Do I Need to be on a Low Fat Diet to Lose Fat? | ArticlesBase.com

When you go on a diet to lose fat, you still want to maintain health. Healthy fats are part of a healthy diet. Avocados are a terrific fruit that has been shunned for its high-fat content. That is a shame, because it is also a nutrient-rich delicious food. The fat content is high, so portions should be small to help with weight-loss, but an ounce of avocado on a salad is much healthier than a tablespoon of a typical salad dressing, and tastes better too.

Some foods obviously have no place in a diet intended to produce fat loss. Fried mozzarella sticks, for example. Number one: cheese sticks may not even belong on your weight-loss menu in the first place.

But number two is the big one: Those things are deep-fried! Who ever came up with the idea of wrapping a stick of a high fat food in crumbs so it would absorb more fat and then deep-frying it? Well in an age when we are so far out of touch with healthy eating, you can literally be served deep-fried candy bars, that shouldn't be too surprising.

Shocking or not, don't eat that kind of food if you can help it. Back to the original question: do you need to be on a low-fat diet to lose fat? Short answer: No.

Slightly longer answer: That depends what you mean by low-fat. Some diets call themselves low-fat, but encourage that up to 30% of calories come from fat. That's probably a healthy level, maybe even a little too high, depending on your other factors.

The human body needs fat. If it can't get it from your diet, it may shut down the mechanisms that cause you to burn your stored fat. Your body is programmed to survive. If something is missing from the food you eat, your body will not let go of its precious reserves. A diet to lose fat, like any other healthy diet, includes dietary fats.

For More Details Visit: www.thedietsolutionprogram.com
About the Author:

I am the owner of this site.
